OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated July 7, 2007, and pursuant to Sections 3, 4 and 7 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, as amended, the Public Service Act, and all other authority in her vested, is pleased to: (

a) create a Department of Seniors and prescribe the name of the department to be the Department of Seniors; (

b) direct that the Department of Seniors shall be presided over by the Minister of Seniors, who has the supervision, direction and control of all affairs and matters relating to the Department and who shall supervise the performance of the functions of the Department; (

c) assign to the Department of Seniors and the Minister of Seniors all affairs and matters relating to the Senior Citizens' Secretariat Act; and (

d) appoint Rosalind Penfound as the Deputy Minister of Seniors.
