OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated August 18, 2003, pursuant to

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act, and to all other authority in her vested, is pleased, effective August 18, 2003, to: (

a) create an office of the public service and prescribe the name of the office to be the Office of Acadian Affairs; (

b) direct that the Office of Acadian Affairs be presided over by the Minister responsible for Acadian Affairs who shall be appointed by the Governor in Council, and who may be described as the Minister of Acadian Affairs; (

c) direct that the Minister of Acadian Affairs shall have the supervision, direction and control of all offices and matters relating to the Office of Acadian Affairs and shall supervise the performance of the functions of the Office of Acadian Affairs; (

d) appoint the Honourable Chris A. d'Entremont as the Minister of Acadian Affairs; and (

e) direct that such other officers and employees as are required for the purpose of the Office may be appointed pursuant to the Civil Service Act, and that Act applies to those employees.
