Statute: Disabled Persons Commission Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Community Services dated May 18, 2016, and pursuant to Sections 4 and 5 of

Chapter 130 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Disabled Persons Commission Act , is pleased, effective July 4, 2016, to: (

a) reappoint Brian P. Tapper of Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth), William (Bill) Crawford of Yarmouth, Yarmouth County, David Thomas MacLeod of Antigonish, County of Antigonish, Amy L. Parsons of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax), Marcellina (Marcie) Shwery-Stanley of Cape Breton Regional Municipality (Sydney), and H. Jane Warren of Wolfville, Kings County, as members of the Disabled Persons Commission, each for a term of two (2) years; (

b) designate Brian P. Tapper as Chairman of the Disabled Persons Commission for a term of two (2) years; (

c) order that Brian P. Tapper be remunerated for his service in the amount of $97.00 per meeting and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in connection with the work of the Disabled Persons Commission as Chairman, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to civil servants; and (

d) order that William (Bill) Crawford, David Thomas MacLeod, Amy L. Parsons, Marcellina (Marcie) Shwery-Stanley, and H. Jane Warren be remunerated for their service in the amount of $48.50 per meeting and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses they incur in connection with the work of the Disabled Persons Commission provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to civil servants.
