OIC Text: The Governor in Council, on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated May 29, 2024, and pursuant to Sections 7 and 8 and subsection 9(4) of
Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act , subsection 11(1) of
Chapter 155 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Executive Council Act , and subsection 18(1) of
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act , is pleased, effective July 1, 2024, to: (
a) revoke the appointment of Laura Lee Langley as Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier, Deputy Minister of Treasury and Policy Board, Clerk of the Executive Council, and the designation as Head of the Public Service; (
b) appoint Tracey Taweel as Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier and designate Tracey Taweel as Head of the Public Service; (
c) appoint Jeannine Lagassé as Clerk of the Executive Council and designate Jeannine Lagassé as Deputy Minister of Treasury and Policy Board; (
d) fix and determine the salary of Tracey Taweel to be at the SO 5 (maximum) pay rate on the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Deputy Ministers; (
e) direct that Jeannine Lagassé shall receive benefits associated with the position of deputy head as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier; and (
f) fix and determine the salary of Jeannine Lagassé to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Deputy Ministers.
