Interpretation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and the Minister of Justice dated November 19, 2025, and pursuant to Sections 672.38 and 672.39 of

Chapter C-46 of the Revised Statutes of Canada, 1985, the Criminal Code , and

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act , is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Dr. Patricia Pearce of Halifax Regional Municipality as a Psychiatrist member of the Nova Scotia Review Board under the Criminal Code for a term of three years commencing December 13, 2025; (

b) reappoint Dr. Brian McCormick and Melanie Petrunia, both of Halifax Regional Municipality, as members of the Nova Scotia Review Board under the Criminal Code, both for a term of three years commencing December 13, 2025; (

c) appoint Sean Ponnambalam of Halifax Regional Municipality as a member of the Nova Scotia Review Board under the Criminal Code for a term of three years commencing December 13, 2025; (

d) determine that, in addition to remuneration as set out in Order in Council 2018-349 dated December 21, 2018, for time spent necessarily attending to duties as Psychiatrist members of the Nova Scotia Review Board under the Criminal Code , Dr. Patricia Pearce shall be paid such actual and reasonable travel and other expenses as may be incurred in the performance of such duties, payable in accordance with the travel policies and guidelines of the Province of Nova Scotia applicable to civil servants; and (

e) order that Dr. Brian McCormick, Melanie Petrunia, and Sean Ponnambalam be remunerated at the rate of $75 per hour and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling their duties as members of the Nova Scotia Review Board under the Criminal Code , provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service.
