OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Human Rights Act dated August 30, 2010, and pursuant to

Section 22 of

Chapter 214 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Human Rights Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint Henderson Paris of New Glasgow, Pictou County, as a commissioner of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission for a term of office of three years commencing October 5, 2010; (

b) determine that Henderson Paris be paid remuneration at the rate of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each half day spent at duly called meetings of the Commission; and (

c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Henderson Paris and indemnify him from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of his activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case.
