OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated January 4, 2005, and pursuant to
Section 4 of
Chapter 140 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Elections Act,
Section 10 of
Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act,
Section 88 of
Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act, and
Section 2 of
Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act, is pleased to: (
a) appoint Christine McCulloch, Q.C., as Chief Electoral Officer for the Province of Nova Scotia; (
b) appoint Christine McCulloch, Q.C., to be a designated person for the purposes of
Part II of the Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act; (
c) designate Christine McCulloch, Q.C., as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act and direct that Christine McCulloch, Q.C., shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; (
d) fix and determine the salary of Christine McCulloch, Q.C., to be at the rate of DM11(104%) and direct that Christine McCulloch, Q.C., shall be entitled, in any year in which Deputy Ministers receive pay for performance pursuant to the Pay for Performance for Senior Officials Policy, to an increment equal to 10% of the Chief Electoral Officer's salary, re-earnable at the end of each year; (
e) designate Christine McCulloch, Q.C., to be and to have been an employee for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act; and (
f) effective December 19, 2003, amend paragraph (
a) of Order in Council 81-1097G dated August 28, 1981, as amended, respecting the retirement of senior public servants by adding "Christine McCulloch, Q.C." to the special class of persons listed therein.
