MINUTES Resource Committee Meeting #3 – June 3, 2021 1. Pursuant to motion, and in accordance w ith Standing Order 72, the Committee met at 9:01 a.m. in the Assembly Chamber. 2. Present from the Committee were: Brian Warr, Baie Verte - Green Bay, Chair Craig Pardy, Bonavista Paul Pike, Burin - Grand Bank Pleaman Forsey, Exploits Lucy Stoyles, Mount Pearl North Scott Reid, St. George’s - Humber substituting for Sherry Gambin-Walsh, Placentia - St. Mary’s James Dinn, St.

John’s Centre substituting for Jordan Brown, Labrador West Also present: Lela Evans, Torngat Mountains Perry Trimper, Lake Melville Scott Fleming, Researcher, Third Party David Porter, Political Support, Official Opposition Nathan Ryan, Political Support, Official Opposition 3. Derrick Bragg, F ogo Island - Cape Freels Stephen Balsom, Assistant Deputy Minister, Forestry and Wildlife Keith Deering, Assistant Deputy Minister, Agriculture and Lands Kathy Dicks-Peyton, Director of Communications Phil Ivimey, Departmental Controller Tracy King, Deputy Minister Chantelle MacDonald Newhook, Assistant Deputy Minister, Enforcement and Resource Services Lorelei Roberts-Loder, Assistant Deputy Minister, Fisheries and Aquaculture 4.

The Committee agreed to allow independent MHAs to participate in the proceedings in the following manner: question time would alternate between the Official Opposition and the New Democratic Party for two turns each and then an independent MHA would be allowed to have a 10 minute turn. In total, 20 minutes was allocated to questions from independent Members. 2 5. The Committee recessed at 10:51 a.m. and resumed proceedings at 10:57 a.m. 6. The Committee reviewed and passed with out amendment the Estimates of the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture. 7.

On motion of MHA Forsey, th e Minutes of the meeting of June 1, 2021 (Department of Industry, Energy and Technology) were adopted as circulated. 8.
