CHAPTER

An Act respecting the Consequential Amendments to Certain Acts resulting from the enactment of The Enforcement of Maintenance Orders Act (Assented to May 26, 1986) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Short title This Act may be cited as The Enforcement of Maintenance Orders Consequential Amendment Act, 1986. S.S. 1986, c.14, s.1. S.S. 1984-85-86, c.77,

section repealed

Section of The Enforcement of Maintenance Orders Consequential Amendment Act is repealed. S.S. 1986, c.14, s.2. R.S.S. 1978, c.L-1,

section amended

Section of The Labour Standards Act is amended by adding the following after “Act”: “or a notice of continuing garnishment or notice of garnishment pursuant to The Enforcement of Maintenance Orders Act”. R.S.S. 1978, c.P-6,

section amended The following subsection is added after subsection 19(2) of The Pension Benefits Act: “

(3) Notwithstanding subsection (1), pension benefits, as they become payable to an employee, are subject to garnishment pursuant to The Enforcement of Maintenance Orders Act for the purposes of enforcing a maintenance order”. Coming into force This Act comes into force on the day of assent but is retroactive and is deemed to have been in force on and from March 1, 1986.
