AN ACT TO AMEND THE ASSURED INCOME FOR THE SEVERELY HANDICAPPED ACT (Assented to , 1989) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows: 1 The Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped Act is amended by this Act. 2

Section is amended by adding the following after subsection (3):

(3.1) In establishing the amount of a handicap benefit payable, any sum that a handicapped person receives or is entitied to receive under the Canada Pension Plan Act shall be deemed to be retkement savings income. Explanatory Notes This Bill will amend

chapter A-48 of the Revised Statutes of Alberta 1980. 2 This subsection will establish that A.I.S.H. payments are calculated on the assumption that C.P.P. payments are a retirement savings income. Title: 1989 (22nd, 1st) Bill 244,
