Statute: Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Health and Wellness dated February 25, 2015, is pleased to: (

a) pursuant to clause 65(2)(

a) of

Chapter 42 of the Acts of 2005, the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act , re-appoint: (

i) Dr. Aileen S. Brunet of Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth) as a psychiatrist member of the Review Board for a three year term commencing on June 5, 2015; and (ii) Dr. Lorraine L. Lazier of Falmouth, Hants County, as a psychiatrist member of the Review Board for a three year term commencing on April 30, 2015; and (

b) pursuant to clause 65(2)(

b) of

Chapter 42 of the Acts of 2005, the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act , re-appoint: (

i) Neil J. Kuranyi of Windsor, Hants County; and (ii) Aileen K. McGinty of Halifax Regional Municipality (Hammonds Plains) as lawyer members of the Review Board under the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act for three year terms commencing on April 2, 2015; (

c) pursuant to clause 65(2)(

c) of

Chapter 42 of the Acts of 2005, the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act , re-appoint: (

i) Edgar Lawrence (Larry) Clement of Halifax Regional Municipality (Head of St. Margaret’s Bay); (ii) Brooke Gray of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County; and (iii) Bruce Miller of Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth) as lay members of the Review Board under the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act for three year terms commencing on April 2, 2015; (

d) pursuant to clause 65(2)(

c) of

Chapter 42 of the Acts of 2005, the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act , revoke the appointments of: (

i) Susan O. Torrens formerly of Truro, Colchester County; and (ii) Suzanne L. Kennedy of Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth) as lay members of the Review Board under the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act , as of March 17, 2015; and (

e) confirm remuneration will be paid to the members in accordance with rates set in Order in Council 2011-183 dated May 24, 2011.
