CHAPTER

An Act to amend The Tobacco Tax Act, 1998 (Assented to May 18, 2022) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Short title This Act may be cited as The Tobacco Tax Amendment Act, 2022. SS 1998, c T‑15.001 amended The Tobacco Tax Act, 1998 is amended in the manner set forth in this Act.

Section amended Subsection 3(2) is amended: (

a) in clause (

a) by striking out “27¢” and substituting “29¢”; (

b) in clause (b.1) by striking out “27¢” and substituting “35¢”; (

c) in clause (b.2) by striking out “20.5¢” and substituting “21.8¢”; and (

d) in clause (

c) by striking out “27¢” and substituting “35¢”.

Section amended

Section is amended: (

a) by renumbering it as subsection 34(1); and (

b) by adding the following subsection after subsection (1): “

(2) A regulation made pursuant to this Act may be made retroactive to a day that is not earlier than March 23, 2016”. Coming into force This Act comes into force on assent, but is retroactive and is deemed to have been in force on and from March 24, 2022.
