OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated March 6, 2001, and pursuant to
Section 54 of
Chapter 30 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Barristers and Solicitors Act, is pleased to: (
a) appoint Jonathan F.L. Davies of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, to be a member of the Board of Governors of the Law Foundation of Nova Scotia for a term of office of one year commencing March 29, 2001; and (
b) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Jonathan F.L. Davies and indemnify him from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of his activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case.
