Statute: Workers’ Compensation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Labour and Advanced Education dated December 8, 2015, and pursuant to Sections 151, 152 and 153 of

Chapter 10 of the Acts of 1994-95, the Workers’ Compensation Act , is pleased to: (

a) appoint Rodney F. Burgar, Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax), as a member and the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia for a term of five (5) years commencing January 19, 2016; and (

b) order that Rodney F. Burgar be remunerated in the amount of $20,000 per year, to be paid pro rata, plus $300 per day for attendance at meetings of the Board of Directors of the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia and its committees and meeting preparation, to a maximum total remuneration of $50,000 per year, and that he be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in connection with the work of the Board of Directors, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service.
