OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations dated August 12, 2010, and pursuant to Sections 4 and 6 of

Chapter 301 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Municipal Finance Corporation Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint Marc Britney, Town of Middleton and Keith Hunter, Municipality of the County of Cumberland, being members recommended for appointment by the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities, as members of the Board of Directors of the Nova Scotia Municipal Finance Corporation each for a term commencing October 5, 2010 to June 30, 2013; (

b) appoint Cathie Osborne, Janet Murphy and Byron Rafuse as members of the Board of Directors of the Nova Scotia Municipal Finance Corporation, each for a term commencing October 5, 2010 to June 30, 2013; (

c) appoint Kevin Malloy as a member of the Board of Directors and designate him as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Nova Scotia Municipal Finance Corporation for a term commencing October 5, 2010 to June 30, 2013; and (

d) order that the Province will defend, negotiate, or settle claims or charges made against any person appointed by the Province to the Nova Scotia Municipal Finance Corporation, and indemnify them from personal liability, provided the selection of the person was at the sole discretion of the Province and the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of the person's activities in relation to the appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity. Wherever the Province defends an appointee pursuant to the aforementioned, the Province will be in control of the case.
