Order in Council 1223/2020

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council considers it necessary to establish three special advisor positions to provide advice and recommendations to the Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development on matters related to promoting access to and awareness of the skilled trades and apprenticeship system, and supporting apprentices;

Therefore , pursuant to

section 4 of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Act :

Three Youth Advisor positions are established for a term of nine months, effective the date this Order in Council is made;

The Youth Advisors shall be appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council to serve at pleasure for a term not exceeding nine months;

The Youth Advisors shall be accountable to the Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development and shall perform the duties and carry out the activities set out in the Terms of Reference established by the Minister;

The Youth Advisors shall be compensated at a rate determined by the Lieutenant Governor in Council;

The Youth Advisors shall be reimbursed for work-related expenses incurred in carrying out their duties as Youth Advisors in accordance with the Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive and any other TB/MBC directives.
