Statute: Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage dated February 4, 2011, and pursuant to Sections 5 and 6 of

Chapter 22 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Act, is pleased to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Marion Jay of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, which appointment was made by Order in Council 2008-613 dated November 25, 2008; (

b) appoint William Barker, Carol Dodds and Robbie Shaw of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, Joan Keith of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, and Michael Cormier of Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, for terms commencing April 5, 2011 and ending on June 30, 2013; (

c) appoint Bonnie Baker of Annapolis Royal, Annapolis County, for a term commencing April 5, 2011 and ending on June 30, 2011; and (

d) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against the above appointments of the Board of Governors of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and indemnify them from personal liability in connection with any such claim, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointments, and is not based on fraud or criminal activity, and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.\x0c
