B.C. Reg. 297/2016 , deposited December 7, 2016, under the PENSION BENEFITS STANDARDS ACT [section 133]. Order in Council 892/2016, approved and ordered December 6, 2016.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that the Pension Benefits Standards Regulation, B.C. Reg. 71/2015, is amended

(

a) as set out in the attached Appendix 1, and

(

b) effective December 31, 2016, as set out in the attached Appendix 2.

Appendix 1

Section 11 (2) of the Pension Benefits Standards Regulation, B.C. Reg. 71/2015, is amended

(

a) in paragraph (

a) by striking out “ 94 (a), ”, and

(

b) by adding the following paragraphs:

(a.1)

section 94 of the Act to the extent provided in paragraphs (

b) and (

f) of this subsection;

(f)

section 93 (2) of this regulation.

Appendix 2

Section 10 of the Pension Benefits Standards Regulation, B.C. Reg. 71/2015, is amended

(

a) by repealing subsection (1) (

a) and (f), and

(

b) by adding the following subsection:

(8.1) The University of British Columbia Staff Pension Plan is exempt from the following:

(

a) section 94 of the Act to the extent provided in paragraphs (

b) and (

c) of this subsection;

(

b) sections 102 to 107 of the Act as prescribed for the purposes of

section 94 (

a) of the Act;

(c)

section 93 (2) of this regulation.
