OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries dated July 28, 2004, pursuant to

Section 3 of

Chapter 113 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crop and Livestock Insurance Act, is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Avard Bentley of Westchester, Cumberland County, as a member and designate him as Chair of the Nova Scotia Crop and Livestock Insurance Commission for a three year term commencing September 2, 2004; (

b) appoint Greg Coldwell of Port Williams, Kings County, as a member of the Nova Scotia Crop and Livestock Insurance Commission for a three year term commencing September 2, 2004; (

c) appoint Philip Stead of Truro, Colchester County, as a member of the Nova Scotia Crop and Livestock Insurance Commission for a three year term commencing September 2, 2004; (

d) approve the remuneration of $150.00 per day for the name in paragraph (

a) plus reimbursement for necessary expenses in accordance with government policy; (

e) approve the remuneration of $100.00 per day for the names in paragraphs (

b) and (

c) plus reimbursement for necessary expenses in accordance with government policy; and (

f) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against the above appointees of the Nova Scotia Crop and Livestock Insurance Commission and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
