An Act to amend The Nursing Homes Act (Assented to ,1967) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta, enacts as follows: 1. The Nursing Homes Act is hereby amended.

Section 12, subsection (1) is amended by striking out clause (

b) and by substituting the following: (

b) who has established his home in Alberta and has resided in Alberta either (

i) for the three consecutive years immediately pre ceding the application for benefits, or (ii) for a period of at least consecutive years at any time preceding the application for benefits, and 3. This Act comes into force on the day upon which it is assented to. Expla natoryNotes 1. This Bill amends

chapter of the Statutes of Alberta, 1964.

Section 12, subsection (1). clause (

b) presently reads: 12.

(1) Benefits may be paid only in respect of a patient in a contract nursing home (
