The Bill creates an exception to this rule, enabling municipalities to provide financial assistance to an affordable housing project in the municipality. The Bill allows municipalities to define what types of affordable housing projects will qualify for assistance. A local board can also be established by the municipality to administer a program to provide financial assistance for affordable housing projects. L’article 111 de la Loi sur les municipalités interdit à une municipalité d’accorder une aide financière quelc onque à une entreprise. Le projet de loi crée une exception à cette règle en permettant aux municipalités d’accorder une aide financière à un projet de logements à prix abordable dans la municipalité. Il permet aux municipalités de définir les types de projets de logements à prix abordable qui sont admissibles à une aide. La municipalité peut également créer un conseil local pour administrer un programme d’aide financière pour ces projets.
