CHAPTER

An Act to amend The Senior Citizens School Tax Rebate Act (Assented to May 9, 1980) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Short title This Act may be cited as The Senior Citizens School Tax Rebate Amendment Act, 1980. 1979, c. S-47.1 The Senior Citizens School Tax Rebate Act is amended in the manner set forth in this Act.

Section amended Subsection 6(1) is repealed and the following substituted: “

(1) The total of the grants payable pursuant to sections and shall not exceed: (a) $605; or (

b) the total of the general property tax levied in the current year by a municipality against the property listed in the applicant's application for a grant, where the general property tax levied is less than $605”.

Section amended Clause 9(1)(

b) is repealed and the following substituted: “(

b) no grant shall be paid to an applicant in any current year unless: (

i) at the time he applies for the grant, his name is listed on a valid Saskatchewan Health Services Card issued for the current year for the purposes of The Saskatchewan Hospitalization Act or The Saskatchewan Medical Care Insurance Act; or (ii) he belongs to a class or category of applicant prescribed in the regulations that is not required to be the holder of a valid Saskatchewan Health Services Card for the purposes of this Act”.
