1986 BILL First Session, 21st Legislature, 35 Elizabeth II THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ALBERTA BILL INDIGENOUS CULTURAL PROPERTIES RECLAMATION ACT MR. PIQUETTE First Reading Second Reading Committee of the Whole Third Reading Royal Assent Bill Mr. Piquette BILL INDIGENOUS CULTURAL PROPERTIES RECLAMATION ACT (Assented to HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows: 1 The Foreign Cultural Property Immunity Act is amended by this Act. 2

Section is amended: (

a) in clause (

k) by striking out "instruments." and sub stituting "instruments,"; and (

b) by adding at the end of it "but does not include any property originally discovered, made, created, produced, built, crafted or constrticted at a place which is now situated within the borders of the Province of Alberta." In accordance with section 4(1) of the

Interpretation Act, this Bill comes into force on the date U receives Royal Assent Explanatory Notes This Bill will amend

chapter F-12.5 of the Statutes of Alberta, 1985. 2

Section l(

k) presently reads: 1 In this Act, "cultural property" means property belonging to any one or more of the following categories: (
