OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Environment and Labour dated May 9, 2003, pursuant to Sections 4 and 7 of
Chapter 418 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Securities Act, is pleased to: (
a) revoke, effective November 30, 2002, the appointment of Robert B. MacLellan of Truro, Colchester County, as a member and his designation as Chair of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission, which appointment and designation were made by Order in Council 2001-568 dated November 30, 2001; (
b) revoke, effective May 29, 2003, the appointment of Professor H. Leslie O'Brien, Q.C., of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member and Vice-Chair of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission, which appointment was made by Order in Council 2000-363, dated June 29, 2000; (
c) reappoint Professor H. Leslie O'Brien, Q.C., as a member and designate him as Chair of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission, for a term of three years, effective May 29, 2003; (
d) determine the remuneration of Professor H. Leslie O'Brien to be $71,000.00 per annum; and (
e) order that the Commission defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Professor H. Leslie O'Brien arising out of his activities in relation to his appointment and indemnify him from personal liability in connection with any such claim or charge except any claim or charge based on fraud or criminal activities.
