Alberta — Bills

Bill No. 50 of 1944. A BILL TO AMEND THE AGRICULTURAL PESTS ACT. NOTE. This Bill amends The Agricultural Pests Act,

chapter 76, R.S.A., 1942. The purpose of the amendment is to provide for a mini mum fine of ten dollars for offences against this Act, and also to provide for imprisonment in default of payment of the fine. It has been found in practice that offences under this Act have usually been punished by a nominal fine, and it is ,considered that for the proper administration of the Act a minimum fine should be authorized.
