Black Point Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 81-1227 (October 1, 1981), N.S. Reg. 133/81

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 3rd day of September, A. D., 1981, pursuant to

Section 5(1) of

Chapter 6 of

the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act , is pleased to

designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Black

Point Beach, in the County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the

copy of Crown Lands Records Office Plan No. E-13-21 marked

Schedule “B” and described in

Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.

All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being “Lands Lying Landward

From The Mean High Watermark of Black Point Beach” being located at Black Point, St.

Margarets Bay, County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia as shown on a Plan of Survey

(Field Plot No. P-155/81) signed on the 24th day of July A. D. 1981 by Lee Johnston, Nova

Scotia Land Surveyor and filed in the Department of Lands and Forests Office, Halifax, the said parcel of land being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at a point on the southeastern boundary of public highway (Route No. 3) and situate

(by grid bearings referenced to the Nova Scotia 3° Modified Transverse Mercator Projection,

zone 5, central meridian 64° 30' west longitude) N 30° 36' 39" E, a distance of 393.69' from

Nova Scotia Coordinate Monument No. 22877 having coordinate values (Northing 16, 226, 563.60', Easting 18, 180, 981.16');

From Thence northeasterly following the southeastern boundary of Route No. 3 a distance of

380' more or less to a point situate N 21° 32' 37" E, a distance of 374.06' from the place of

beginning;

Thence S 80° 58' 29" E a distance of 137.17' more or less to the mean high watermark of Back

Bay Pond;

Thence southeasterly following the mean high watermark of Back Bay Pond 750' more or less

to a point situate S 64° 02' 12" E, a distance of 727.58' from the last described point;

Thence S 30° 06' 52" E, a distance of 126.48' to the mean high watermark of St. Margarets

Bay;

Thence westerly following the mean high watermark of St. Margarets Bay 1150' more or less

to a point situate N 84° 49' 22" W, a distance of 955.39' from the last described point;

Thence N 64° 41' 37" W, a distance of 32.17' to the place of beginning.
