OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated January 17, 2006, pursuant to
Section 13 of
Chapter 31 of the Acts of 2004, the Police Act, is pleased to: (
a) appoint Marion Ferguson of Upper Tantallon, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member and chair of the Nova Scotia Police Review Board for 3 months, commencing January 19, 2006; (
b) appoint Charles Schafer of Waverley, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Nova Scotia Police Review Board for 3 months, commencing January 19, 2006; (
c) appoint R. Lester Jesudason as a member and Vice-chair of the Nova Scotia Police Review Board for 3 months, commencing January 19, 2006; (
d) fix remuneration of a member of the Nova Scotia Police Review Board at $150 per meeting; (
e) fix remuneration of the chair of the Nova Scotia Police Review Board at $200 per meeting; (
f) fix remuneration of the Vice-chair of the Nova Scotia Police Review Board at $175.00 per meeting; and (
g) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against the above appointees and indemnify them from personal liability provided that the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
