OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Finance dated November 8, 2001, and pursuant to
Section 52 of
Chapter 365 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Provincial Finance Act, is pleased to amend Order in Council 94-860 by (
a) repealing clause (
a) and substituting the following clause: (
a) authorize the Deputy Minister of Finance or for him, the Assistant Deputy Minister of Finance, the Executive Director, Investments, Pensions and Treasury Services, the Director of Liability Management and Treasury Services or the Controller in the Department of Finance (the "Authorized Provincial Officials"), to file a Registration Statement in such form and with such changes therein or amendments thereto as the signatory on behalf of the Province shall approve and such other documents as are necessary, and to take all such steps or proceedings as any of them may consider necessary to initiate and complete a registration, including supplements and amendments thereto, with the Securities and Exchange Commission at Washington, D.C., in the United States of America, for the purpose of issuing from time to time debentures of the Province up to the total aggregate principal amount of $1.25 billion in lawful money of the United States of America, and to do all such acts, matters and things as are necessary to comply with the provisions of any law relating to the registration, supplements and amendments thereto, debenture issue or debenture issues from time to time and amendments thereto and transfer or sale from time to time of any of the debentures pertaining thereto; (
b) adding "and such other documents as may be necessary to give effect to the registration and this Order" immediately after "Province" in the last line of clause (b); and (
c) striking out "$600,000,000" in the ninth line of clause (
d) and substituting "$1.25 billion".
