EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Bill would amend the Justices and Public Authorities Protection

Act to remove its application to Provincial Court judges. The protection it

provided to them in the exercise of their duties is in duplication of

protection provided under the Provincial

Court Act, 1991 .

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and

House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

1. Paragraph 2(

b) of the Justices and Public Authorities Protection Act is repealed and the

following substituted:

(b) " justice "

means a justice of the peace.
