Majors Point Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 77-834 (July 12, 1977), N.S. Reg. 66/77

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 16th day of May, A.D., 1977, pursuant to

Section 5(1) of

Chapter 6 of the

Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act , is pleased to

designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Majors

Point Beach, in the County of Digby, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the

copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-87, marked

Schedule “B” and described in

Schedule “A” both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.

Schedule “A”

All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Majors Point,

Belliveau Cove, in the County of Digby, Province of Nova Scotia as shown outlined in red on

the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-87 attached hereto and marked

Schedule

“B”, the said lot of land being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at the intersection of the mean high watermark of St. Marys Bay with the northern

face of the wharf at Belliveau Cove, as shown on said plan;

Thence southeasterly along the northern face of the said wharf, and the prolongation of the

northern face of said wharf, to the intersection with the western boundary of Highway No. 1;

Thence southerly along the western boundary of said Highway No. 1 to the intersection with

the western boundary of a street to the southwest as shown on said plan;

Thence southwesterly along the western boundary of said street to the southwest to a point

opposite the mean high watermark of the extremity of the dead water as shown on said plan;

Thence southwesterly along the mean high watermark of the said dead water, southside, and

the mean high watermark of the small stream flowing out of the dead water to the mouth of

said stream;

Thence westerly across the mouth of said stream to the mean high watermark on the western

side of said stream;

Thence southwesterly along the mean high watermark of the Grosses Coques River to the

mouth of said river;

Thence northerly and easterly along the mean high watermark of St. Marys Bay to the place of

beginning.
