Short title

Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm Order 68/08 The Newfoundland and Labrador Gazette November 14, 2008 558 2. The Town of Roddickton and the Town of Bide Arm are amal- gamated as the Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm. 3. All assets and liabilities of the Town of Roddickton and the Town of Bide Arm are to be assumed by the Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm. 4. The town council of the Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm is es- tablished to control and manage the town in accordance with the Act. 5. The boundaries of the Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm are as set out in the Schedule. 6.

The Town of Roddickton Order , Consolidated Newfoundland and Labrador Regulation 399/96, and the Town of Bide Arm Order, Consolidated Newfoundland and La brador Regulation 44/96, are repealed. 7. Schedule Beginning at a point, that point being the intersection of the eastern bank of Northeast Brook and the northern side of a bridge on Route 433 where Route 433 passes over Northeast Brook; Then running north 89° 13' east a distance of 1,150 metres, more or less; Then running south 0° 46’ east a distance of 3,900 metres, more or less; Then running south 12° 46’ east a distance of 4,300 metres, more or less; Then running north 89° 13’ east a distance of 900 metres, more or less; Then running south 1° 36’ east a distance of 6,070 metres, more or less, to the northernmost point of Big Burnt Brook Pond; Then following the eastern shoreline of Big Burnt Brook Pond in a generally southwesterly direction to where a brook flows out of that pond; Then following the brook in a generally westerly direction along the centreline of the brook to the eastern shoreline of Bide Arm; Then running in a generally northerly direction along the eastern shore- line to the most northerly point of Bide Arm; and Then running in a generally southerly direction along the western shoreline of Bide Arm to a point having coordinates north 5 626 752 and east 562 727 metres; Then running south 89° 13’ west a distance of 2,360 metres, more or less, to a point on the eastern shoreline of Chimney Bay at the mouth of a small brook which flows from Timber Pond; Then in a generally northerly direction along the eastern shoreline of Chimney Bay, passing Cabin Point, Chaine Point, Dowers Harbour, Scott Point, Roddickton, Adamson Point, and Muddy Hole to a point where Northeast Brook flows into Northeast Arm and continuing along the eastern bank of Northeast Brook to the point of beginning. ©Earl G.

section 12 of the Municipal Elections Act, I make the following Order. Dated at St. John’s, October 30, 2008. Dave Denine Minister of Municipal Affaris ORDER Analysis 1.

Short title 2. Wards prescribed 3. First election 4. Council 5. Returning officer 6. Effect 1. This Order may be cited as the Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm Election Order. 2. The Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm shall be divided into 2 wards:

a) Ward 1, the community of Roddickton; and (

b) Ward 2, the community of Bide Arm. 3. The first election of a council for the Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm shall take place on December 9, 2008. 4.

(1) The council shall have control and management of the Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm.

(2) The council shall consist of 7 persons: (a) 4 councillors to be elected at large; (

b) one councillor to be elected to represent Ward 1; (

c) one councillor to be elected to represent Ward 2; and (

d) a mayor to be elected in a separate mayoralty election. 5. Phyllis Randall is appointed as returning officer to conduct the election authorized under this Order. 6. The council elected on Dec ember 9, 2008 under this Order shall have authority for the cont rol and management of the town on the date that the Town of Roddickton-Bide Arm Order under the Municipalities Act, 1999 comes into force. ©Earl G.
