Order in Council 414/2026

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Pursuant to subsection 58(2) of the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997 and subsection 16(4) of the Adjudicative Tribunals Accountability, Governance and Appointments Act, 2009 , Debra Backstein of Toronto be appointed as part-time member and vice-chair of the Fire Safety Commission for a fixed term ending October 15, 2027, effective the date this Order in Council is made.

Further,

whereas Debra Backstein was appointed as part-time member of the Fire Safety Commission for a fixed term of two years, effective September 26, 2024 by Order in Council O.C. 1222/2024;

Therefore, Order in Council O.C. 1222/2024 be revoked effective the date this Order in Council is made.
