Approval of Purchaser's Protection Program

(Condominium Property Act)

The Condominium Property Act Regulation requires a notice summarizing the terms

and conditions of a Purchaser's Protection Program (the Program) and a notice of the

approval of the Program by the Minister before the Program is applied in respect of

any property.

The Program protects against loss by a purchaser in the event that a developer fails to

complete construction of the units or common property. Where a developer is

covered by a Program, the program provider must ensure a certificate is provided to

the purchaser containing information about the Program as specified in

section 69 of

the Condominium Property Regulation.

The Minister of Service Alberta, Honourable Stephanie McLean, approved the

Program for Trisura Guarantee Insurance Company on May 14, 2018.

The Program provides for an indemnity under which Trisura Guarantee Insurance

Company agrees to indemnify a purchaser of a unit against the loss of the purchaser's

money, where the loss is incurred as a result of the developer's failure to complete the

construction of the unit or the related common property or both.
