OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Human Rights Act dated April 28, 2011, and pursuant to

Section 22 of

Chapter 214 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Human Rights Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint Eunice Harker of Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, as a Commissioner of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission, for a term of office of three years commencing June 7, 2011; (

b) reappoint Norbert Comeau of Church Point, Digby County, as a commissioner of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission for a term of office of three years commencing July 29, 2011; (

c) determine that Eunice Harker and Norbert Comeau be paid remuneration at the rate of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each half day spent at duly called meetings of the Commission; and (

d) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Eunice Harker and Norbert Comeau and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointments and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
