OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Municipal Affairs dated July 22, 2025, at the request of the Village Commission of Cornwallis Square, and pursuant to

Section 404A of

Chapter 18 of the Acts of 1998, the Municipal Government Act , is pleased, effective September 23, 2025, to: (

a) change the name of the “Village of Cornwallis Square” to the “Village of Kings Square”; (

b) direct and confirm that a reference in an enactment, bylaw, order, policy, resolution, deed, will or other document to the Village of Cornwallis Square is deemed to be a reference to the Village of Kings Square; (

c) direct and confirm that all property, rights, and privileges vested in the Village of Cornwallis Square shall continue to be vested in the Village of Kings Square, and all duties and obligations of the Village of Cornwallis Square shall continue to be duties and obligations of the Village of Kings Square; and (

d) direct and confirm that the Village of Kings Square shall continue to bear all obligations, rights, and duties under any agreement entered into by the Village of Cornwallis Square.
