OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Labour and Advanced Education dated August 26, 2014, and pursuant to Sections 3, 5 and 6 of

Chapter 37 of the Acts of 2010, the Labour Board Act , is pleased to: (

a) order that the annual honoraria for vice-chairs of the Labour Board be fixed at the following levels, based on the total number of combined, cumulative years of experience of a vice-chair as a member of the Labour Board or a predecessor board, panel or tribunal: (i) $15,000 per annum for vice-chairs with twenty or more years of experience; (ii) $10,000 per annum for vice-chairs with less than twenty years of experience; (

b) reappoint Bruce Archibald, Q.C., of Mahone Bay, Lunenburg County, as a vice-chair of the Labour Board for a term of office of one year commencing September 30, 2014; (

c) reappoint Susan Ashley of Wolfville, Kings County, as a vice-chair of the Labour Board for a term of office of three years commencing September 30, 2014; (

d) reappoint E. A. Nelson Blackburn, Q.C., Halifax Regional Municipality (Bedford) as a vice-chair of the Labour Board for a term of office of one year commencing September 30, 2014; (

e) reappoint W. Augustus Richardson, Q.C., Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as a vice-chair of the Labour Board for a term of office of three years commencing September 30, 2014; (

f) order that the remuneration for Bruce Archibald, Q.C., and Susan Ashley be fixed in the following aggregate amounts, payable to each for their service as a vice-chair of the Labour Board: (

i) an annual $15,000 honorarium to be paid pro rata; (ii) $300.00 per day for each day the vice-chair conducts a hearing as a vice-chair or participates in necessary training; (iii) $150.00 per day for each day the vice-chair necessarily attends to the business of the Labour Board as a vice-chair except while conducting a hearing or participating in necessary training; (iv) reimbursement for reasonable expenses actually incurred in fulfilling their duties as vice-chairs, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service; and (

g) order that the remuneration for E. A. Nelson Blackburn, Q.C., and W. Augustus Richardson, Q.C., be fixed in the following aggregate amounts, payable to each for their service as a vice-chair of the Labour Board: (

i) an annual $10,000 honorarium to be paid pro rata; (ii) $300.00 per day for each day the vice-chair conducts a hearing as a vice-chair or participates in necessary training; and (iii) $150.00 per day for each day the vice-chair necessarily attends to the business of the Labour Board as a vice-chair except while conducting a hearing or participating in necessary training; (iv) reimbursement for reasonable expenses actually incurred in fulfilling their duties as vice-chairs, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service.
