Statute: Insurance Act Public Service Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated February 24, 2006, pursuant to

Section 4 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act, and

Section 3 of

Chapter 231 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Insurance Act, is pleased, effective February 24, 2006, to: (

a) revoke Order in Council 2003-367 dated August 18, 2003, which Order assigned responsibility for the Insurance Act to the Honourable Ronald S. Russell, and directed that for administration purposes, all affairs and matters relating to the Insurance Act be attached to the Department of Environment and Labour; (

b) assign responsibility for the Insurance Act to the Honourable Michael G. Baker, QC, a Member of the Executive Council, who may be described as the Minister responsible for the Insurance Act; (

c) direct that, for administration purposes, all affairs and matters relating to the Insurance Act be attached to the Department of Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations; and (

d) direct that all affairs and matters relating to financial institutions which have heretofore been assigned by or under any Act of the Legislature to the Department of Environment and Labour are assigned to the Department of Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations.
