Second Peninsula Provincial Park Designation

made under

Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 20th day of January, A.D., 1975, pursuant to the provisions of

Section 2 of

Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act , is pleased

(

a) constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her

Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia and situate at or near Second

Peninsula, in the County of Lunenburg, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a

Provincial Park, said area of land being included within the boundaries of the

lands described in

Schedule “A” and shown outlined on the Plan of Survey

marked

Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the

report and recommendation; and

(

b) declare the name by which the Park shall be known as “Second Peninsula

Provincial Park”.

Schedule “A”

Second Peninsula Provincial Park

All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at or near Second Peninsula,

County of Lunenburg, Province of Nova Scotia as is shown on Plan E-5-46 recorded in the

Crown Land Registry office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, being more

particularly described as follows:

Beginning at a Crown Land Iron Post (C.L.I.P.) set on the northern boundary of the road

leading from Martin Brook to Sandy Cove and the most southwestern corner of lands now or

formerly owned by Cyril Read;

Thence northwesterly and westerly along the northern boundary of said road leading from

Martin Brook to Sandy Cove to a C.L.I.P., said C.L.I.P. being south eighty-two degrees

seven minutes west (S 82° 07' W), distant one thousand six hundred fifteen decimal forty-five

(1615.45) feet from the place of beginning;

Thence north one degree fifty-seven minutes west (N 1° 57'

W) along the eastern boundary of

lands now or formerly owned by M. William Veinotte, distant nine hundred fifty-eight decimal

two (958.2) feet to a C.L.I.P.;

Thence north three degrees forty-five minutes east (N 3° 45'

E) along the eastern boundary of

said lands now or formerly owned by M. William Veinotte, distant five hundred twenty-one

decimal four (521.4) feet to a C.L.I.P. set on the mean high water mark of Prince Inlet;

Thence easterly along the mean high water mark of said Prince Inlet to a C.L.I.P. set on the

most westerly corner of said lands now or formerly owned by Cyril Read, said C.L.I.P. being

south eighty-eight degrees twenty-one minutes east (S 88° 21' E), distant one thousand three

hundred sixty-two decimal zero nine (1362.09) feet from the immediate above mentioned

C.L.I.P.;

Thence south fifty degrees thirteen minutes east (S 50° 13'

E) along the western boundary of

said lands now or formerly owned by Cyril Read, distant two hundred twenty-eight decimal

zero (228.0) feet to a C.L.I.P.;

Thence south three degrees fifteen minutes east (S 3° 15'

E) along the western boundary of said

lands now or formerly owned by Cyril Read, distant one thousand seventy-four decimal eight

(1074.8) feet to the place of beginning.

The above bearings are astronomic.

The above described lands containing an area of forty-six (46) acres more or less.

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 13th day of November, A.D., 1985, pursuant to

Section 5 of

Chapter 244 of

the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act , is pleased to withdraw

approximately 8,650 square feet of land, more fully described in

Schedule “A” and shown

outlined in red on the plan marked

Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part

of the report and recommendation, from lands situate at Second Peninsula, County of

Lunenburg, constituted as Second Peninsula Provincial Park by Order in Council 75-165, dated

the 11th day of February, A.D., 1975.

Schedule “A”

All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Second Peninsula, in the

County of Lunenburg, Province of Nova Scotia as shown outlined in red on Plan No. E-5-46

marked

Schedule “B” attached hereto and being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at Crown Land Iron Post (I.P.) No. 1 situate on the northern boundary of a public

highway leading from Martin Brook to Sandy Cove and marking the southeastern corner of

lands designated as Second Peninsula Provincial Park and also marking the southwestern

corner of lands now or formerly owned by Cyril Read;

From thence (by astronomic bearings) N 03° 15' W following the eastern boundary of the said

Second Peninsula Provincial Park, a distance of 155.71 feet to an iron post;

Thence southwesterly to a point on the northern boundary of the said public highway and

situate westerly a distance of 132 feet from the place of beginning;

Thence southeasterly following the said northern boundary of the public highway a distance of

132 feet to the place of beginning.

The above described lot contains an area of 8,650 square feet, more or less.
