CHAPTER

An Act to amend The Victims of Crime Act (Assented to May 4, 1993) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Short title This Act may be cited as The Victims of Crime Amendment Act, 1993. S.S. 1989-90, c.V-6.01 amended The Victims of Crime Act is amended in the manner set forth in this Act.

Section 11.11 amended 3(1) Subsection 11.11(2) is amended by striking out AA victim@ and substituting ASubject to subsection (3), a victim@.

(2) The following subsection is added after subsection 11.11(2): A(3) Where an application for compensation pursuant to subsection (1) is based on a criminal offence described in the regulations for the purposes of this subsection, the one year period mentioned in subsection (2) begins to run when the victim understands the nature of the injuries and recognizes the effects of the misconduct@.

Section 11.8 amended Clause 11.8(1)(

b) is amended by adding Aand subsection 11.11(3)@ after Aclause 11.11(1)(a)@. Coming into force This Act comes into force on the day of assent.
