EXPLANATORY

NOTE

The

Bill amends the Building Code Act, 1992 to provide

that Ontario Regulation 332/12 (Building Code) made under the Act is deemed to

include the Canadian Standards Association Bird-Friendly Building Design

Standard A460.

Act to amend the Building Code Act, 1992 with respect to bird-safe windows

His

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the

Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

Section 34 of the Building Code Act, 1992 is

amended by adding the following subsection:

(1.2) Ontario

Regulation 332/12 (Building Code) made under this Act is deemed to include the

Canadian Standards Association Bird-Friendly Building Design Standard A460.

Commencement

This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.

title

The

short title of this Act is the Bird-Safe Windows Act, 2023 .
