B.C. Reg. 47/2008, deposited March 6, 2008, pursuant to the EMPLOYMENT AND ASSISTANCE ACT, [Section 35 (b), (e), (

f) and (j)] and the EMPLOYMENT AND ASSISTANCE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES ACT , [Section 26 (b), (e), (

f) and (j)]. Order in Council 148/2008, approved and ordered March 6, 2008.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective March 17, 2008, the Employment and Assistance Regulation, B.C. Reg. 263/2002, and the Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Regulation, B.C. Reg. 265/2002, are amended as set out in the attached Appendix.

Appendix

Section 52 of the Employment and Assistance Regulation, B.C. Reg. 263/2002, is repealed and the following substituted :

Community volunteer supplement

(1) The minister may provide to or for a family unit that is eligible for income assistance a supplement of up to $100 for each calendar month for each recipient or dependent child who

(

a) has reached 15 years of age, and

(

b) is a person referred to in

section 29 (4) (b), (e), (f), (h) (iii) or (

v) or (

i) for clothing, transportation or other expenses that are needed for that recipient or dependent child to participate in a community volunteer program.

(2) Subsection (1) does not apply for a calendar month in which the minister provides the family unit with a supplement under

section 56 (2) for the use or benefit of that recipient or dependent child.

Section 47 of the Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Regulation, B.C. Reg. 265/2002, is repealed and the following substituted:

Community volunteer supplement

(1) The minister may provide to or for a family unit that is eligible for disability assistance a supplement of up to $100 for each calendar month for each recipient or dependent child who has reached 15 years of age for clothing, transportation or other expenses that are needed for that recipient or dependent child to participate in a community volunteer program.

(2) Subsection (1) does not apply for a calendar month in which the minister provides the family unit with a supplement under

(

a) section 48 [monthly incentive supplement] , for the use or benefit of that recipient or dependent child,

(

b) section 49 [training initiative supplement] , for the use or benefit of that recipient or dependent child, or

(c)

section 54 (2) [supplements related to employment plan], for the use or benefit of that recipient or dependent child.
