OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Finance dated May 3, 2006, and pursuant to Sections 4 and 7 of
Chapter 418 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Securities Act, is pleased to: (
a) reappoint H. Leslie O'Brien, Q.C., of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member and designate him as Chair of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission, for a term of three (3) years effective May 30, 2006; (
b) determine the remuneration of H. Leslie O'Brien as member and Chair of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission to be $77,000 per annum; and (
c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against the above appointee and indemnify him from personal liability in connection with any such claim, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of his activities in relation to his appointment, and is not based on fraud or criminal activity, and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case.
