OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated January 9, 2012, and pursuant to Sections 7 and 25J of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act,

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act,

Section 2 of

Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act,

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, and all authority in him vested, is pleased, effective January 23, 2012, to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Ian Thompson as Deputy Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism; (

b) revoke the appointment of Sandra McKenzie as Associate Deputy Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism; (

c) revoke the appointment of Sandra McKenzie as Acting Deputy Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism; (

d) revoke the appointment of Jeff Conrad as Acting Deputy Minister of Labour and Advanced Education;\x09 (

e) revoke the appointment of Jeff Conrad as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Immigration; (

f) revoke the appointment of Judith Ferguson as deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act for the Advisory Council on the Status of Women; (

g) appoint Simon d'Entremont as Deputy Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism; (

h) appoint Sandra McKenzie as Deputy Minister of Labour and Advanced Education; (

i) appoint Sandra McKenzie as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Immigration; (

j) appoint Sandra McKenzie as deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act for the Advisory Council on the Status of Women; (

k) designate Simon d'Entremont and Sandra McKenzie as deputy heads within the meaning of the Civil Service Act; (

l) fix and determine the salaries of Simon d'Entremont and Sandra McKenzie to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier; (

m) direct that Simon d'Entremont and Sandra McKenzie shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan and such other benefits as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier; and (

n) designate Simon d'Entremont and Sandra McKenzie to be and to have been an employee for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act.
