Martinique Beach Provincial Park Designation

made under

Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 71-651 (June 29, 1971), N.S. Reg. 92/71

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 22nd day of June, A.D., 1971, pursuant to

Section 2 of

Chapter 244 of the

Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act , is pleased to:

(

a) constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her

Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, and situate at Martinique

Beach, in the County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a provincial

park, said area of land being more particularly described in

Schedule “A”

attached to the report and recommendation, and shown outlined on the plan of

survey marked

Schedule “B” attached to the report and recommendation; and

(

b) declare the name by which the park shall be known as “Martinique Beach

Provincial Park”.

Martinique Beach Provincial Park

All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Martinique Beach in the

County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown on plan #E-5-l recorded in the Crown

Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax and being more particularly

described as follows:

Beginning at an iron post where the southerly boundary of lands now or formerly owned by C.

J. Sayers intersects the easterly boundary of the public road leading from Martinique Beach to

Musquodoboit Harbour;

From thence (by astronomic bearings) following the southerly boundary of lands now or

formerly owned by C. J. Bayers north seventy-six degrees forty-eight minutes east, eight

hundred and twenty feet more or less to the low water line of a pond;

Thence southerly, easterly and northerly following the low water line of said pond to its outlet;

Thence easterly and northerly following the several courses of the outlet of the pond to the low

water line of Musquodoboit Harbour, said point being the northerly side of Martinique Beach;

Thence easterly and southerly following the several courses of the low water line marking the

northerly margin of Martinique Beach to a point where the waters of the Atlantic Ocean

separate Martinique Beach from the point of land commonly known as Flying Point Beach;

Thence southerly and westerly following the northerly margin of the channel of water

separating Martinique Beach from Flying Point Beach to a point where the margin of said

channel stops;

Thence in a generally westerly direction following the several courses of the low water line

marking the southerly margin of Martinique Beach to a point;

Thence north forty-seven degrees twenty-eight minutes west, thirty-four feet more or less to an

iron post placed in a concrete cylinder;

Thence continuing north forty-seven degrees twenty-eight minutes west, one hundred and

twenty-three feet to an iron post marking the southeasterly corner of lands now or formerly

owned by Simonds;

Thence continuing north forty-seven degrees twenty-eight minutes west, ninety-two decimal

seven feet along the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly owned by Simonds to an iron

post;

Thence north forty-five degrees twenty-four minutes west, ninety-two decimal five feet along

the easterly boundary of said Simonds to an iron post marking the northeasterly corner thereof;

Thence south seventy-six degrees forty-eight minutes west, six hundred and twenty-six decimal

six feet to en iron post placed on the westerly boundary of the public road leading from

Martinique Beach to Musquodoboit Harbour;

Thence northerly following the westerly boundary of said road a distance of sixty-six feet to the

place of beginning.
