OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated March 1, 2001, and pursuant to

Section 4 of

Chapter 348 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Police Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint Betty Thomas of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Nova Scotia Police Commission for a term of office of three years commencing March 30, 2001; and (

b) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Betty Thomas and indemnify her from personal liability provided that the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of her activities in relation to her appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends her, the Province will be in control of the case.
