OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated June 6, 2000, pursuant to
Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act, and all other authority in her vested, is pleased to: (
a) direct that all affairs and matters relating to the subject of (
i) higher education marketing as have heretofore been the responsibility of the Minister of Education are assigned to the Minister of Economic Development, effective June 15, 2000; (ii) procurement as have heretofore been the responsibility of the Minister of Finance are assigned to the Minister of Transportation and Public Works, effective June 15, 2000; (iii) labour market development as have heretofore been the responsibility of the Minister of Education through the Labour Market Development Secretariat are assigned to the Minister of Economic Development, effective July 1, 2000; (iv) housing services as have heretofore been the responsibility of the Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs are assigned to the Minister of Community Services, effective August 1, 2000; (
v) public school construction through a process known as public private partnering (P3) as have heretofore been the responsibility of the Minister of Education are assigned to the Minister of Transportation and Public Works, effective August 1, 2000; (vi) water utilities as have heretofore been the responsibility of the Minister of the Environment are assigned to the Minister of Transportation and Public Works, effective August 1, 2000; (vii) publications and print services as have heretofore been the responsibility of a Minister are assigned to the Minister responsible for Communications Nova Scotia, effective August 1, 2000; and (
b) direct that a reference in any Act of the Legislature or in any rule, order, regulation, by-law, ordinance or proceeding, or in any document whatsoever, to a Department or to the Minister or Deputy Minister of that Department to which affairs and matters have been transferred by this Order, whether the reference is by official name or otherwise, shall with respect to any subsequent transaction, matter or thing be held and construed to be a reference to the Department or to the Minister or to the Deputy Minister of that Department to which the affairs and matters have been transferred, as the case may be.
