Order in Council 1458/2021

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Pursuant to subsection 41(2) of the Building Opportunities in the Skilled Trades Act, 2021 ,

The chair of the Skilled Trades Ontario board of directors, appointed on a part-time basis, shall be compensated at the rate of $350 per diem, up to a maximum of 240 days such that the maximum payable is $84,000 annually;

The other members of the Skilled Trades Ontario board of directors, appointed on a part-time basis, shall be compensated at the rate of $200 per diem, up to a maximum of 240 days such that the maximum payable is $48,000 annually;

In the event that any appointees are cross-appointed to more than one agency, the following restrictions apply:

appointees who hold a full-time appointment are entitled to the remuneration associated with their full-time appointment only;

appointees who hold more than one part-time appointment are entitled to the remuneration associated with each appointment, provided that only one per diem is paid in respect of a calendar day;

Appointees shall be reimbursed for reasonable work-related expenses incurred while engaged in the business of Skilled Trades Ontario in accordance with the Travel, Meal and Hospitality Expenses Directive and any other TB/MBC directives.

This Order in Council is effective the date that subsection 41(2) of the Building Opportunities in the Skilled Trades Act, 2021 is proclaimed into force.
