Order in Council 569/2017

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas by Orders in Council O.C. 326/2015 and O.C. 328/2015 dated March 18, 2015, the Government of Ontario established a position and appointed an individual to lead the development of a strategic framework and related work plan to guide the development of government policy on community hubs and provide recommendations to the Province with respect to government policy related to community hubs;

And

whereas the Premier’s Community Hub Framework Advisory Group, chaired by the Premier’s Special Advisor on Community Hubs, issued a report with recommendations to guide the creation of community hubs entitled Community Hubs in Ontario: A Strategic Framework and Action Plan and a one-year progress report, and the government committed to continue to work with its partners and stakeholders on implementation of the recommendations;

Therefore, pursuant to the prerogative of Her Majesty The Queen in Right of Ontario to establish advisory bodies and provide for the appointment of advisors to serve Her Majesty’s Government of Ontario in the discharge of its executive obligations and responsibilities:

Special Advisor extended

The position of Special Advisor to the Premier on Community Hubs (the “Special Advisor”), accountable to the Premier, established by Order in Council O.C. 326/2015 and extended by Order in Council O.C. 319/2016, is extended for a further period commencing April 1, 2017 and ending no later than March 31, 2018;

Terms of reference

The Premier shall determine the terms of reference of the Special Advisor to the Premier on Community Hubs and may amend them from time to time.

Appointment and term of Special Advisor

The Special Advisor shall be appointed to serve at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council.

Remuneration and expenses

The Special Advisor shall be paid such remuneration and expenses as the Lieutenant Governor in Council may determine.
