OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated January 13, 2023, and pursuant to
Section 26H of
Chapter 31 of the Acts of 2004, the Police Act, and
Section 77 of
Chapter 2 of the Acts of 2010, the Finance Act , is pleased, effective February 7, 2023, to authorize the Attorney General and Minister of Justice: (
a) entering into an agreement with the province of New Brunswick to allow the Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team to provide continuous oversight of policing in the province of New Brunswick by providing independent investigation of serious incidents involving police, on the terms and conditions approved by the Executive Council, subject only to such modifications as the Minister determines are necessary and do not materially change the agreement; and (
b) entering into a net debt obligation not to exceed $195,000 for the capital cost of vehicles required under the agreement.
