southwest of the Town of Slave Lake.

The name is being changed to commemorate Keskihtawakay (1878-1959) of the

Swan River First Nation, who was also known by the adopted name Patrick

Courtorielle. His name, Keskihtawakay, translates as "one ear" or "cropped ear" and

the name Courtorielle translates as "short ear."

Keskihtawakay and his wife, Rachel, lived at Kinuso, where he ran a pool hall and

worked as a fisherman, roadbuilder and railway labourer. He maintained traplines on

this creek and used it as a base for hunting. According to the Courtorielle family,

Keskihtawakay and Rachel took their family away from Kinuso to live on Island

Creek to keep their children out of residential schools. The family eventually moved

to Canyon Creek, where the children attended the local school. Keskihtawakay was a

noted trapper in his community. He trained family and community members to be

trappers and employed them to help maintain his traplines.

This creek was named Redbeaver Creek in 1922. In 1954, the name Redbeaver Creek

was moved to a creek a short distance to the south and the name Island Creek was

adopted for this water feature, likely due to the large island in the delta at the creek's

confluence with the Swan River. Members of the Swan River First Nation have

known the creek as "Pat's Creek" for its association with Keskihtawakay/Patrick

Courtorielle.

Notice of Receipt of a Repatriation Application

(Blackfoot First Nations Sacred Ceremonial Objects Repatriation Regulation)

Pursuant to the First Nations Sacred Ceremonial Objects Repatriation Act

(FNSCORA) and the Blackfoot First Nations Sacred Ceremonial Objects

Repatriation Regulation made under that Act, the Province of Alberta as represented

by the Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women hereby gives notice of receipt

of a repatriation application from the Kana' Katsii Sinn Siksika Nation Repatriation

Association for an object in the Government of Alberta's collections at

Glenbow-Alberta Institute.

The application is for the repatriation of a:

1. Dag Knife attributed to Chief Crowfoot's regalia (A5881A) which came into

the possession of the Glenbow-Alberta Institute in 2013.

2. Beaded Dag Knife Sheath attributed to Chief Crowfoot's regalia (A5881B)

which came into the possession of the Glenbow-Alberta Institute in 2013.

Any person with interest in these objects, who either wishes to make written

representations to the Minister relating to this application or to submit an application

of their own, must do so within 30 days after publication of this notice in The Alberta

Gazette. For further information, an interested person should contact the Director of

applications or contrary written representations have been made and if the Minister

considers repatriation to be appropriate.

Contract: Edmonton - Infrastructure Building - Relocate Transportation to

Infrastructure Building - Demolition / Abatement

Contractor: North Elm Construction

Reason for Increase: Additional work is required related to breezeway ductwork,

removal of existing conduit, and other unforeseen existing conditions in the areas of

work. Excessive abandoned construction equipment exists within ceiling spaces, that

need to be removed in order to complete the abatement under required high-risk

procedures for safety purposes.

Contract Amount: $3,213,896.00

Contract: Edmonton - John E Brownlee Building - ACPS

Part 2 - Restack of 5th

Floor

Contractor: Govan Brown & Associates Ltd.

Reason for Increase: Modifications related to the life safety systems (fire

suppression) are required to meet current building codes. This additional work was

not identified during design and was discovered during construction. The space is

being re-purposed into office areas and addressing the sprinkler system issue during

the current construction phase is the most efficient solution. This additional work

aligns with the contract scope. Contract increase amounts for the additional work,

including materials, labor, and time to complete the contract scope.

Contract Amount: $3,728,970.00

% Increase: 41%

Amount of Increase: $1,527,415.28

Contract: Red Deer - Provincial Building - Replace Sealed Units and Exterior Doors

Contractor: RBW Consulting

(2015) Ltd.

Reason for Increase: Change orders are required for the supply and installation of

new aluminium door and window frames. Original project scope did not include this

work. It was discovered during the construction that the existing vertical door and

window frames are not structurally sound and in poor condition. In order to obtain the

manufactures warranty for the new door and window installation these changes are

required. Design improvement of barrier free access to the south entrance to the

building is also included with this change.

Contract Amount: $1,991,000.00

% Increase: 21%

Amount of Increase: $415,000.00

Contract: Stony Plain - Provincial Building Courthouse - HVAC Upgrade

Contractor: Strathcona Mechanical Limited

Reason for Increase: Additional work is required due to unforeseen site conditions.

These conditions include concealed hazardous building materials (asbestos) inside the

mechanical room's HVAC ducts and silencers in both the buildings. In the Provincial

Building, the chimney walls do not meet current fire codes regulation and require

additional scope. These existing conditions were not revealed until after

demolition/removal of adjacent mechanical equipment. This additional work is

necessary to meet current applicable building and safety codes.

Contract Amount: $2,217,400.00

% Increase: 51%

Amount of Increase: $1,125,000.00

Contract: Vegreville Alberta Research Council Building - Exterior Entrance Doors

Joint Replacement and Metal Siding

Contractor: Interworks Contracting Ltd.

Reason for Increase: Repair of the facility's brick facade and rejuvenation of the

exterior doors is underway. Unforeseen site conditions have necessitated hazardous

materials abatement. Additionally, several areas of the substructure that support the

brick have deteriorated, requiring more extensive repair work than originally

anticipated.

Contract Amount: $354,574.00

% Increase: 42%

Amount of Increase: $150,000.00

Contract: Vegreville - Provincial Building - Electrical Systems Replacement

Contractor: Western Pacific Enterprises Ltd.

Reason for Increase: During upcoming contract work, there is risk that the existing

incoming secondary power conduits, running underground from the utility pole to the

building and terminate at the Main Distribution Panel (MDP), could be degraded and

inadequate for re-use to re-pulling the new conductors as currently planned and in

scope. The condition of these underground conduits will not be known until power is

shut-down and in-scope work is underway and will require prompt

repair/replacement. Additional demolition may be required, as well as extended

temporary power provisions. The building will remain operational throughout this

work.

2. Redemption of a parcel of land offered for sale may be affected by certified

payment of all arrears, penalties, and costs at any time prior to 11:00 a.m. on

5. The lands are being offered for sale on an "as is, where is" basis, and the Village

vacant possession, or the develop-ability of the lands for any intended use by the

6. No bid will be accepted where the bidder attempts to attach conditions to the sale
